Doulaography

I am a Doula- Birthkeeper offering Birth & Postnatal services all over London, particularly the South West. I am passionate about physiological birth at home or within the Birth Centre. In some cases I can support in hospital too.
With over a decade of  Doula experience I still felt so much more needed to be done to enhance the birth experience for mums to be. Thankfully, The Centre for Doula Pathways took me down a deeper more aligned path that helps and benefits the mums in my care to experience for far better pregnancy and birth outcomes than ever before.  Through this process I have also learned to embrace, develop and connect deeply with my existing knowledge of my own cultural practices and wisdoms, such as the gentle womb massage and closing the bones treatment.
Doula Pathways also trained us in the DBM Fasciatherapie which not only benefits the labouring mother but your newborn baby too. Thankful I can offer you this amazing bodywork therapy in the comfort of your home in those early days.

As a mature woman, mother and grandmother, I also bring over three decades of Early Childhood Studies both as a professional and from my own personal perspective. To combine this within my current practice I come to you with an intense, intuitive and deeper understanding of women, physiology and connection through consciousness.  I am so exited to offer you many more of my nourishing treatments.
From the hundreds of families I have supported over the years, all of them still remain in touch today which means so much to me.

I am a mum of five, four girls, one boy, my eldest daughter has blessed me with three wonderful grandchildren as well.
I live in Tooting/Colliers Wood with my husband Haroon, children and our family cat Flame. We have a very busy home as you can imagine. I am a proud Hijab wearing Muslim and South Asian British woman, I love my heritage which is Punjabi Pakistani, I am also fluent in Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi as well, I try my best with a few Bengali and Arabic words too!
I like to think I’m a very funny person and I smile a lot! I love all kinds of music, dancing, singing whilst cooking. Love chatting to my friends and family. I am super organised at your home (mine is a different story)! I have many interests/ hobbies that I love to pursue but I never get around to finishing them and recently I’ve become obsessed with flowers, trees and love hanging out in nature.

How did I get here - Since the birth of my first and as a very young mother, I knew I wanted to help other mums achieve better birth outcomes overall and not go through some of the things I should not have experienced. I had difficult births and low birth weight babies who spent some time in NICU as well. I basically had no knowledge of the hospital systems and no where to turn for help with anything baby related. So after my third baby I joined a La Leche League Training Program run by some local midwives in the area after the birth of my fifth child. I did a lot of volunteer work as a Breastfeeding support for well known hospitals, local children’s centre’s & Homestart Merton too. Soon after this, I enrolled on a Doula training course in London, it was pretty basic looking back, even then I felt I wanted to do so much more than what was expected from us around then. I did lots of Postnatal work and supported births too. Even then I felt mums in my care needed much more than what doula providers were offering us. Even though all the mums were taken good care of and felt supported I wanted to be able to offer other treatments which I now have.

Now as a mature woman, who is still very cool and hip too - I bring you all of the things I had been desperate to offer you during your early postpartum period. They are deep and meaningful practices that are there to treat you in a variety of ways during your period of transition from woman to mother. I cover all of your requirements from Prenatal through to Birth, supporting trauma healing, teaching you how to use breathwork and affirmations in labour and post to allow healing and transformation. I am so thankful and grateful that I can incorporate so many of my cultural and restorative treatments that allow gentle healing for you and your family.

Some of the lovely things I offer you are -
Prenatal Sessions - Antenatal: Postnatal Education/Hypno Breathing
Fourth Trimester planning- virtual for those outside the UK
Four individual Birth Packages to suit
Four individual Postpartum Packages
Dharan Therapy - A Punjabi Womb Massage
Womb Wrapping
Closing The Bones
Flower Bath
Breath work and lots of other great therapies to support you further.

As a Doula/Birthkeeper I offer compassionate care and expertise to expectant mothers and their newborns. With extensive training and experience in prenatal, postnatal, and newborn care, I provide invaluable support during one of life's most precious moments. My dedication to promoting the well-being of both mother and baby ensures a smooth transition into parenthood. I prioritise creating a nurturing environment, offering guidance on breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery. With my calm demeanor and a focus on holistic health, I strive to empower families to embrace their new roles with confidence and joy.
Wise women/elders have been around for generations in so many communities.
I bring to you my wealth of knowledge and experience both lived and through learning and improving daily to bring you the very best version of myself.

Most importantly, I want to see you flourish into a better and stronger version of yourself as a new mother who has grown in her new found confidence and embarking on her own journey into Motherhood with the skills and knowledge to share with her tribe of family and friends ❤️

Second baby, away from family

24/05/2024

Zarina looked after me and our baby with a kindness, wisdom and warmth I will forever remember. She is incredible with babies and incredible with new mothers – helping navigate the emotional rollercoasters alongside all the pragmatic challenges of early infancy and postpartum life. Cannot recommend more highly

Twin lads, two mums, a dog

Zarina helped us during a tricky time with our twin boys. I was unwell struggling with low mood, sadness and loneliness stuck at home. My partner Lou found her for me, I was not sure and did not trust many. However with her I began to trust again, she was kind, compassionate and understanding. I started going for walks and pursuing my passion for running again with her support.

I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone…plus she cooks up a banging daal!

Help..,it’s TWINS

24/05/2024

Zarina was the doula I never realised I needed! Having given birth to twins, I was trying to navigate motherhood for the first time whilst recovering from a c-section, Zarina came and helped me step by step. She discussed ways in which we would not only look after the twins, but how I would look after myself. We talked through various different strategies from feeding, sleeping, mummy time and even partner involvement. Zarina is exceptionally knowledgable and comes with a wealth of experience. I remember the twins going to sleep in the evening and her running me a flower bath with essential oils and some background music to help me relax. I felt completely comfortable with her being around as it wasn’t just about the babies, it was about me too. Thank you Zarina for all your help during this new phase of my life. Highly recommend Zarina and her doula services
