Amisha (they/she) is a doula based in London who has been practicing for 5 years. They offer individualised and trauma-informed care throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, prioritising the needs of queer and trans individuals often overlooked by the healthcare system.
As a Training Co-ordinator with Birthrights, Amisha delivers training to healthcare professionals, birthworkers and charities on rights-respecting care, promoting dignity and autonomy in pregnancy and childbirth. Amisha enjoys supporting those who have been mislabelled as 'out of guidance' and wants to ensure that everyone has care that truly reflects their individual needs.
In their spare time, Amisha crochet's and has created crochet placentas which are a staple learning aid in their birth planning sessions.
