Olá, I’m Ânia! A birth and postnatal doula here to bring you space, a good ear, and real practical support, whether you're getting ready for birth, recovering postnatally, figuring out feeding and sleep, or needing support through loss, you don’t have to do it alone.
I’m here for you, in-person (Belfast Trust and the Ulster Maternity) or online, wherever you are!

I am from the stunning and sunny Madeira island, in Portugal, I’ve travelled, lived in different countries, and embraced different cultures. I’m a mum of two (2017 & 2020 babies!) and have spent over 10 years working in a local homeless charity in their head office spinning the plates.

Funny enough, I never had a big dream of having kids, I was too busy soaking up life’s adventures! But in 2011, I moved to Northern Ireland to help my sister with her little one as she was going back to work after maternity leave, looking back, that was the start of my doula journey, even though I had no clue what a doula was back then.

After my second birth in 2020, I saw how many parents were being let down, obstetric violence, lack of informed choices, and minimal postnatal support. It lit a fire in me. Friends were already calling me their doula before I even knew what that meant! The more I learned, the more I knew this was where I was meant to be.

In 2021, I trained with Developing Doulas, and it was hands down the best decision ever. I’ve met incredible people, learned so much, and I keep learning every day.

So, if you're looking for a doula in Belfast who’s all about support (no matter what it looks like), good craic, and no BS, I’d love to chat! Also support families in Portuguese and Spanish.

Here are some things that people are saying about my services

"Her presence made all the difference to me and my partner and turned what could have potentially been a negative experience into an amazing one. No words will ever truly describe how thankful I am for her." "Ânia was born to do this. I felt supported by, listened to and fully informed by her throughout my pregnancy, birth and postpartum."

"She empowered me to vocalise my wishes through challenging situations that without her support, I wouldn’t have, allowing me to feel more in control of my birth experience." "Ânia supported us pre- and postnatal as well as during the birth of our daughter. We loved her down-to-earth, passionate and kind nature. She supported us tirelessly and nothing we asked of her was ever too much. It was very reassuring knowing that she was always just a call or a text message away, especially in the lead up to the birth and shortly after. She is very knowledgeable and shares great resources that have been very helpful. I can recommend her 100%"
