Doulaography

✨ Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. ✨

I’m Emma Knight, a birth and postnatal doula, hypnobirthing teacher, and mum of three based in Earlsfield, South West London.

Through Bloom & Baby Doula, I support families across London and Surrey with calm, continuous, and personalised support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period.

My role is simple.

To help you feel informed, grounded, supported, and never alone during one of the biggest transitions of your life.

Whether you are preparing for your first baby, growing your family, planning a home birth, navigating consultant appointments, preparing for an induction or caesarean, or simply wanting someone steady by your side, I meet you where you are.

This is care that adapts to you, not the other way around.

I support:
• First-time parents
• Growing families
• Single parents
• Nervous birth partners
• Families wanting more continuity and personalised care
• Parents looking for evidence-based information without overwhelm

My approach is warm, calm, evidence based, and completely tailored to you.

I do not believe in rigid birth ideals or one “right” way to give birth. I believe in helping you understand your options, trust yourself, and feel genuinely supported whatever direction your journey takes.

I blend practical antenatal education, hypnobirthing techniques, biomechanics for birth, emotional reassurance, and hands-on labour support to help you feel more confident and less overwhelmed.

Together we might explore:
• Birth physiology and what labour actually looks like
• Navigating the maternity system and understanding your options
• Birth planning and informed decision making
• Hypnobirthing and nervous system regulation techniques
• Breathing, movement, and positioning in labour
• Partner support and advocacy
• Preparing for the realities of the early postnatal period

Above all, I bring continuity.

A calm, familiar person who already knows you when labour begins.

Someone who can quietly help you breathe through contractions, reassure your partner, make tea at 3am, help you drown out the white noise, and remind you that you are capable even in the moments you forget.

✨ What working together looks like ✨

• Free discovery call
A relaxed chat for us to get to know each other properly, talk through your hopes, worries, and questions, and see whether we feel like the right fit.

• Coffee meet before booking
If it feels right, we can arrange a relaxed coffee together before moving forward so you can ask questions, get to know me better, and make sure you feel completely comfortable.

• Personalised antenatal preparation
Three in-depth antenatal sessions, each around three hours long, from the comfort of your sofa. Together we cover birth preparation, biomechanics for birth, comfort techniques, hypnobirthing tools, informed decision making, partner support, and postnatal planning, all tailored completely to you.

• Ongoing support throughout pregnancy
You will have continuous support via WhatsApp, phone, and email throughout pregnancy, so you never feel like you are navigating things alone.

• On-call support for your birth
I am on call for you 24/7 from 10 days before your estimated due date until your baby arrives.

• Continuous labour and birth support
From the moment you need me in labour, I stay with you continuously, offering emotional, physical, and practical support throughout your birth experience.

• Immediate postnatal support
After birth, I remain with you to help you settle in, support feeding, answer questions, and make sure you feel cared for during those first precious hours.

• Continued postnatal care
Support does not suddenly disappear once baby arrives. I continue offering reassurance, guidance, and practical support during those early weeks of parenthood.

I also offer dedicated postnatal support for families wanting extra care after birth.

The early days with a newborn can feel beautiful, emotional, exhausting, and completely overwhelming all at once. My postnatal support is designed to help you feel rested, reassured, and properly looked after too.

This might include:
☕ A hot cup of tea and a listening ear
• Feeding and newborn support
• Holding baby while you shower or sleep
• Light household help
• Talking through your birth experience
• Emotional reassurance and practical guidance
• Supporting your recovery physically and emotionally

My work is grounded in evidence-based care, ongoing professional development, and practical experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period.

My training includes:

• Birth Bliss Academy Doula Training
• KG Hypnobirthing Teacher Training
• Biomechanics for Birth with Molly O’Brien
• Three Step Rewind Practitioner Training
• Trauma Informed Birthwork Training
• Postnatal Planning Training
• Full Paediatric First Aid

I am committed to continued learning and regularly undertake additional training and professional development so I can support families with both confidence and compassion.

Before becoming a doula, I spent almost 20 years working in high-pressure corporate environments. Becoming a doula felt like finally stepping into work that genuinely mattered to me.

Families often describe me as calm, approachable, reassuring, and someone who helps them feel instantly more settled.

Outside of doula life, I am usually walking dogs, baking something unnecessarily indulgent, organising community projects, teaching climate education in local schools, or getting into bed far too early with a good book or crime drama.

Choosing a doula is such a personal decision.

You are inviting someone into one of the most vulnerable, powerful, and life-changing moments of your life, and connection matters hugely.

If you think I might be the right fit for your family, I would love to hear from you.

Emma provided me with post-birth doula support and she was incredible.

Emma provided me with post-birth doula support and she was incredible. She has a way to offer advice and tips while still making you feel confident that you are making the right choices already. She also gave me some good baby massage techniques to help with my little one’s gas which proved useful throughout the newborn stage.

We are so happy we found and connected with Emma!

We are so happy we found and connected with Emma! She was our dream doula and is one of the main reasons why my husband and I had such a positive birth experience and I’ll forever be grateful to her. She provided us with all the information, support, affirmations and empathy that we needed to feel confident and advocate for what we needed in the moment. She helped to guide us through it all, organsing the taxi to the hospital for us, chatting to the midwives and doctors to make sure I wasn’t disturbed, rubbing my back through my contractions and providing me with encouragement and useful tips along the way. She gave my husband the support he needed to be an amazing birth partner and has continued to check in and give us helpful advice and care in the weeks following the birth. She is an incredible person, so kind, non-judgmental and lovely and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to feel heard and have an empowering experience.

Emma helped us both prepare for the birth of our daughter, and provided much needed support postnatally

Emma helped us both prepare for the birth of our daughter, and provided much needed support postnatally, including always bringing a sweet treat which was amazing! Her support meant that we felt more confident in the early days post birth – she helped to answer all our many questions and took care of our daughter while I caught up on some sleep! I would 100% recommend Emma to anyone looking for support before, during or after birth.
