Hi! I’m Katie, a postnatal/night doula supporting families in/around Bournemouth and Poole. I also offer occasional birth doula support.

As your doula I’m in your corner, there to listen, support you, and provide a safe space to share some of the things you’re feeling. I can help you work through your choices around birth, help you prepare to look after yourself and maximise joy in the newborn period, and provide practical and emotional support to you and your partner in the early days and weeks.

I’m particularly passionate about breastfeeding support, as I know how emotional it can be when challenges come up, and how stretched healthcare teams. I struggled with a number of breastfeeding challenges, and the kind, patient support of one person saved my journey.

I provide flexible and tailored support to families through the postnatal period - every family is different, and every day you might need a different kind of support. Some examples of the ways in which I can support you are:

- Providing a safe and supportive space to discuss your birth experience and all the feelings we go through in those early days and weeks
- Looking after babies while parents are catching up on sleep, rest, or getting some well-deserved time to themselves
- Providing kind, patient and calm support with all types of feeding, supporting you to establish breastfeeding and walking beside you as you work through any challenges
- Helping with household tasks such as washing up, laundry, cleaning and tidying to allow you to relax in a calmer space
- Making meals for you with whatever you have at home
- Running errands for you such as grocery shopping, or supporting you as you take your first steps out with your new baby
- Accompanying you to appointments, so you know you have someone walking beside you
- I also offer ‘night nanny’ services, looking after your baby while you get a good nights sleep (bringing them to you for feeds if you’re breastfeeding).
