Hello, I am Nicola. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile. A little bit about me… I offer high-quality fertility, birth and postnatal doula services, primarily across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, as well as online. I also offer standalone antenatal education, hypnobirthing classes and placenta remedies. I can also support you with birth trauma 3-step rewind sessions if required. I am passionate about supporting you with your emotional well-being. I offer non-judgemental support, along with unbiased, evidence-based information, so you can make the best decisions for you, your baby and your family.
My favourite part of being a doula is supporting you to advocate for yourself and your preferences. Just because an NHS guideline says you need to take a certain pathway, it may not be what you feel is best for you. I’ll work with you (and your partner) to ensure that your choices are prioritised and respected. I’ll be right there to talk through all your options and to provide anything you need to help you to make informed choices. We will work together to ensure your pregnancy, birth and early parenthood are everything you want them to be.
I live right between Nottingham and Derby with my husband, Wes, and our amazingly wonderful neurodivergent 9year old son. I love our life and enjoy the usual family things. I have even recently (and reluctantly) learnt the basics of Minecraft! My road to motherhood wasn’t a smooth one; I suffered recurrent miscarriages. Having gone through this means I get it; why you might not be ecstatic about a positive pregnancy test or why you might be crippled with anxiety when everyone else around you are telling you ‘not to worry’. I’m always happy to work with clients from as early as they feel the need so I can support you through those times.
Finding the perfect doula for you is so important. You need to be able to create a genuine connection and feel comfortable with them. There is a doula for everyone and your job is to find the right one for you. To assist you with this, I offer a free, no obligation, 20-minute Zoom call so we can chat and you can get a feel for whether I am the right doula for you.
