For Bump and Birth….
Since having my own children and having the privilege of experiencing four very different one to one births, I have a desire to see other new parents nurtured and cared for in the same way through their births and beyond.
I want new parents to be informed about the options available to them and to experience their birth, their way. No two births are the same and not all are straightforward, indeed some will need pain relief or intervention, but a successful birth is about being able to look back and say you felt supported in your birth preparation and cared for, encouraged and empowered during labour and birth.
I encourage the principles of hypnobirthing and I have also been studying Birthing Biomechanics, finding ways of opening the pelvis at different stages of birth in order to allow more room for your baby to descend as they are being born.
I want to help mums-to-be to develop a positive approach to birth, ensuring that you are confident, prepared and able to trust and work with your body, making labour more efficient and comfortable for you and your baby. A positive birth experience is really important because it’s the feelings about the birth that last in the long term. And it isn’t all about “natural birth” either, I want to support women in whatever type of birth they decide is right for them, their partner and baby.
And beyond….
My children are grown up and leaving home on new adventures now but I still love nurturing and caring for my family and friends with babies and young children.
For you, I aim to offer encouragement and practical help by providing a supportive and stress-free environment so that you can quickly recover from the birth, bond with your baby and discover and develop confidence in your own parenting skills. I am happy to support first time parents with breastfeeding (or formula if breastfeeding isn’t possible or desired) and instruct on looking after baby as well as helping around the house.
I’m a passionate cook and baker. In recent years I’ve run a cook school for students and I regularly make celebration cakes including wedding cakes. Using these skills, I can help new parents by preparing meals and baked goods to help stock the freezer or providing quick and nutritious recipes. I can also help entertain older siblings with simple baking projects.
I’ve been a full-time Mum for 20 years and during that time I’ve had numerous and diverse experiences and gained a wide range of skills, from running a Toddler-Dancing Group for twelve years and baking in small groups at infant school to being a Governor at our local high school.
While I’m organised and practical, as a Doula, devoted to my charge, I also bring love, nurture and care.
“Love is patient and kind, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. Love never fails”.

I would describe Sally as a ray of warm and comforting light, providing steady support just where we needed it during some pretty wobbly and exhausting weeks after the birth of our second son. I always felt calmer with her around and that challenges were more manageable.
She was perfectly tuned in to my needs as a Mum and knew that it is the small acts of care that go such a long way – for example always putting drinks where I could actually reach them during feeding (which most people just don’t realise is so important!) She showed us lovely ways to hold and wind our newborn and also helped me figure out feeding positions to suit over-supply of milk which was invaluable in my continuation of breast feeding.
Her love for babies is clear and I honestly think she has magic arms as she would soothe our baby to sleep within seconds! I feel that he has benefitted in his introduction to the world through her positive and up-beat approach to life around him.
Sally also provided amazing practical support to us, immediately seeing domestic chores that needed some attention. She treated us to her delicious cooking too and brought us wholesome home-cooked dishes that felt really nurturing. She even brought pizza dough for our 4 year old to make pizzas with one afternoon!
We are so grateful to have had Sally helping us settle into life as a family of 4 and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for some post birth support. You will be lucky to have her warm heart and magic arms with your family at such an important time.
Sally’s support was the most invaluable gift we could have wished for during those early postpartum days. From the very beginning, she never felt like someone we simply hired—she felt like family. She truly cares, and it’s clear this work is about so much more than just a job to her.
Her knowledge and guidance were incredible, but what makes Sally truly special is her warmth, positivity, and genuine kindness. In my most vulnerable moments, she was there—far beyond just her scheduled hours—always available to help me find my feet as a new mum.
I will never forget Sally and everything she did for me. I could never thank her enough, and she will always hold a special place in my heart. She is, without a doubt, one of the best people I have ever met.
If you are considering hiring a postpartum doula, without a doubt, go hire Sally. Oh, and if you’re lucky, she might even bring you some of her lemon cake—which, trust me, is the best you will ever have!
Thank you Sally, we are forever grateful and hope you stay in our lives so little Leo can also get to know Aunty Sally❤️
We had Sally as our postnatal doula and I am so happy she was supporting us in those first few weeks as new parents.
She is the loveliest person with the most calm and reassuring presence and from the moment we met her we clicked and felt so comfortable with her, it’s like she’s part of the family.
Sally looked after us so well, held our little one so that I could have a much needed lie down or get some work done, cooked for us the most delicious food and baked brownies that will forever be missed.
She helped with household chores and always was there with advice, reassurance or just a lovely chat.
If you are thinking of hiring a doula I can highly recommend Sally. You will not be disappointed & we are forever grateful to her!
