For Bump and Birth….
Since having my own children and having the privilege of experiencing four very different one to one births, I have a desire to see other new parents nurtured and cared for in the same way through their births and beyond.
I want new parents to be informed about the options available to them and to experience their birth, their way. No two births are the same and not all are straightforward, indeed some will need pain relief or intervention, but a successful birth is about being able to look back and say you felt supported in your birth preparation and cared for, encouraged and empowered during labour and birth.
I encourage the principles of hypnobirthing and I have also been studying Birthing Biomechanics, finding ways of opening the pelvis at different stages of birth in order to allow more room for your baby to descend as they are being born.
I want to help mums-to-be to develop a positive approach to birth, ensuring that you are confident, prepared and able to trust and work with your body, making labour more efficient and comfortable for you and your baby. A positive birth experience is really important because it’s the feelings about the birth that last in the long term. And it isn’t all about “natural birth” either, I want to support women in whatever type of birth they decide is right for them, their partner and baby.
And beyond….
My children are grown up and leaving home on new adventures now but I still love nurturing and caring for my family and friends with babies and young children.
For you, I aim to offer encouragement and practical help by providing a supportive and stress-free environment so that you can quickly recover from the birth, bond with your baby and discover and develop confidence in your own parenting skills. I am happy to support first time parents with breastfeeding (or formula if breastfeeding isn’t possible or desired) and instruct on looking after baby as well as helping around the house.
I’m a passionate cook and baker. In recent years I’ve run a cook school for students and I regularly make celebration cakes including wedding cakes. Using these skills, I can help new parents by preparing meals and baked goods to help stock the freezer or providing quick and nutritious recipes. I can also help entertain older siblings with simple baking projects.
I’ve been a full-time Mum for 20 years and during that time I’ve had numerous and diverse experiences and gained a wide range of skills, from running a Toddler-Dancing Group for twelve years and baking in small groups at infant school to being a Governor at our local high school.
While I’m organised and practical, as a Doula, devoted to my charge, I also bring love, nurture and care.
“Love is patient and kind, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. Love never fails”.

We had Sally as our postnatal doula and I am so happy she was supporting us in those first few weeks as new parents.
She is the loveliest person with the most calm and reassuring presence and from the moment we met her we clicked and felt so comfortable with her, it’s like she’s part of the family.
Sally looked after us so well, held our little one so that I could have a much needed lie down or get some work done, cooked for us the most delicious food and baked brownies that will forever be missed.
She helped with household chores and always was there with advice, reassurance or just a lovely chat.
If you are thinking of hiring a doula I can highly recommend Sally. You will not be disappointed & we are forever grateful to her!
I fully recommend Sally as a doula. From the moment we interviewed her, I felt reassured that she would prioritize me and be genuinely available when I needed her. She didn’t give the impression of being overbooked or focused on taking on as many clients as possible. Instead, she made me feel like I was her only client, which gave me great confidence.
The antenatal classes she provided were invaluable. Having 1:1 sessions as a first-time parent meant all my doubts were addressed thoroughly. Sally was incredibly supportive, respecting my decisions and never pushing her own opinions. She guided me in navigating the NHS system and helped me make the choices that felt right for me.
Although my delivery ended in a C-section and we couldn’t follow our planned birth, Sally adapted seamlessly. She came to the hospital to support me, particularly with breastfeeding, and even visited us at home to ensure everything was set up and the baby was settling well into breastfeeding.
Without my family in London, Sally’s support felt like having a caring auntie by my side throughout this journey. Her presence made all the difference, and I’ll forever be grateful for her help.
Sally has been a real life savior! I Full-heartedly recommend her as a postnatal doula!
As a first time mum, with my partner back at work, and a 5-week old baby who struggled sleeping and would only sleep and be content when in my arms (but refused the sling/carrier), I found myself tied to the sofa/bed and struggled taking care of myself and the flat. I felt totally overwhelmed until Sally came along and turned everything around! From the start, she was very hands-on, doing whatever was needed (washing dishes, preparing healthy meals for me, etc). She was masterful in rocking the baby to sleep and quickly formed a close bond with my daughter. I really appreciated Sally’s experience, wisdom, warmth, and understanding. She has been considerate and loving, and quickly felt like a part of the family. I wish she could have stayed with us forever and I am still in touch with her. She is a wonderful woman whose work has been invaluable and excellent! I would give her ten stars if I could – 5 don’t seem enough! 🙂
