Doulaography
Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m a birth & postnatal Doula and hypnobirthing instructor living North London.
Let’s start at the very beginning…growing up, my mum was a gynaecologist, so my childhood was full of stories of women and babies, and on weekends and school holidays I’d spend a lot of time in the hospital surrounded by it all; no surprise then that I wanted to be a doctor or a midwife as a teenager. I’d always been obsessed with the human body and mind, studying biology, chemistry and psychology A-levels, but sadly not getting the grades to get into medical school (blame a 17 year old me distracted by boys!). Instead I followed my other skill, super organisation, and became a Executive Assistant in London to high flying CEO’s of big property, finance and fashion companies. I supported them personally as well as through their businesses and always loved the private support more, assisting with their homes, families and daily schedules.
After 15 years in these roles, I felt like something was missing and I wasn’t doing a job that was the real ‘me’. I decided to leave the city job, overhaul my life, and discover what I really wanted to do. Over the next few years I began training as a psychodynamic counsellor, travelled Europe & SE Asia, went to India to do my yoga teacher training, studied massage and herbal medicine in Bali and spent a year living in Australia (yes I know, typical Eat, Pray, Love).
Along the way, someone mentioned doulas to me and I realised this was the job for me! A role where I could bring together all the things I love and am passionate about, supporting and empowering women, helping families emotionally and physically and creating amazing community support systems around them.
In 2023 I completed my Doula training course with Nurturing Birth, going on to also complete a hypnobirthing training course with The Calm Birth School, and beginning my advanced accreditation with Doula UK.
Within the birth space I’m extremely interested in perinatal care within different cultures, homeopathic & herbal medicines, nutrition, childhood psychological development, and parental mental health. I love to travel around the world picking up cultural practices from different communities, and in early 2025 spent a month studying Ayurveda for pregnancy & postpartum in India.
I’m also extremely passionate about reducing the numbers of unnecessary inductions and caesareans within the birth system, and exploring all the ways we can do this (hiring a doula & education being the main ones!).
As a doula I’m here to support you through whatever type of birth YOU want, empowering you to make your own decisions and feel ready to take on whatever your birth will bring. I fully believe your body is more capable than you could ever imagine, and I’m here to help you realise that.
Postnatally I really focus on ‘mothering the mother’ - when all eyes have suddenly gone to the baby, I’ll be there to make sure you are getting looked after, with proper nutrition, rest, massage, a tidy house, and someone there to cry and laugh with along the way.
If this sounds like the care you’re looking for, please get in touch - I can’t wait to meet you.

I cannot say enough good things about Sarah as a doula! She was absolutely incredible and made my second pregnancy a completely different (and much better!) experience than my first. From the very beginning, Sarah was warm, supportive, and knowledgeable. She took the time to really listen to my concerns and needs, offering advice and emotional support every step of the way. Her presence during the pregnancy gave me so much peace of mind. She shared helpful resources, guided me through relaxation techniques, and provided practical tips that made me feel more confident and prepared. Sarah also went above and beyond to help my partner feel involved and supported, which made the whole journey even more special for our family. When it came time for labour, Sarah was my rock. Her calming energy, reassurance, and encouragement helped me stay focused and strong. She advocated for my birth plan while keeping me informed and empowered throughout the process. Thanks to Sarah, this pregnancy felt so much smoother and less overwhelming than my first. She truly has a gift for what she does, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re considering a doula, don’t hesitate—Sarah is amazing!
Sarah looked after our son once a week between the ages of 1yr old and 15 months. He instantly loved being with her and was always happy when she came to the front door each week.
We found Sarah to be very friendly, conscientious and calm and she also gave my wife advice about various pregnancy/parenting matters. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sarah.
I had a great experience with Sarah with post natal service.
She does exactly what is agreed, can help with both physical and emotional support. You can tell she loves babies and has experience with them. My little one adored “auntie Sarah”
